About Vietnam Architecture Map
Vietnam Architecture Map is a comprehensive digital archive documenting contemporary architecture across Vietnam, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, from coastal resorts to highland retreats.
Mission
Our mission is to create an accessible guide to Vietnam’s architectural landscape for architects, students, travelers, and enthusiasts worldwide. We showcase projects that represent the innovation, cultural sensitivity, and environmental consciousness of contemporary Vietnamese architecture.
About the Curator
This map is curated by Takashi Niwa, a Japanese architect who has been practicing in Vietnam for 15 years through Takashi Niwa Architects. He has been a professor at the Graduate School of Kyoto University of the Arts since 2023. At the 2023 Ashui Awards, he became the first foreigner to receive Architect of the Year in Vietnam.
About This Project
Vietnam Architecture Map was initiated in 2018 as an independent effort to document and celebrate contemporary architecture in Vietnam. While currently maintained by a single curator, the project welcomes contributions from the architectural community.
